10-12 June 2026, 10.00 – 17.00
Galleri Susanne Ottesen, Gothersgade 49, 1123 Copenhagen | District Rosengård

Tarkett, a global leader in sustainable flooring and circular innovation, will present Beginnings & Endings at 3daysofdesign 2026, an exhibition rooted in the belief that circularity should always start with design. The exhibition will be curated by design futures consultancy, FranklinTill.
Design defines what something is made of, how long it will last, and what will happen at the end of its life. In the spirit of collaboration, Tarkett brings together three visionary designers — Yinka Ilori, Laurids Gallée and Christian + Jade — celebrating the significant potential designers have to act as agents of change when it comes to circular design and material choices.
At 3daysofdesign, visitors are invited to experience carpet, homogeneous vinyl and linoleum not as finished flooring products, but as material starting points. Tarkett’s innovation across these materials ensures that each has a circular journey, meaning all exhibition materials can be returned to the company after use, and each re-enters its unique circular system.
In line with Tarkett’s Beauty of Circularity strategy, the exhibition underscores the company’s commitment to close the loop and do more with less. Its approach focuses on three key areas: design, materials and the circular journey – recognising responsibility for the full lifecycle of materials used.
The exhibition also highlights Tarkett’s ReStart® take-back and recycling programme, which enables the recovery of materials after use and supports the transition to a circular economy through collaboration with partners across industries.

Yinka Ilori – carpet
British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori will take over an entire room in the gallery using carpet. Yinka’s involvement marks his debut at 3daysofdesign.
Tarkett’s carpet tiles, rooted in cradle-to-cradle principles, are designed with end-of-life in mind. Composed of yarn and EcoBase backing, these components can be separated at Tarkett’s Carpet Recycling Centre, before the yarn is sent for regeneration and the backing is reused in Tarkett’s EcoBase production. Produced using 100% renewable electricity, the process incorporates reclaimed materials such as calcium carbonate from the local drinking water industry.
Laurids Gallée – homogenous vinyl
The Austrian designer will be working with homogeneous vinyl flooring, which is made to be remade. Material collected after use is granulated and recycled into new flooring, reducing resource consumption and emissions. Through a network of partners, installation off-cuts and used flooring are returned to the factory, where they are processed and integrated into the next generation of products.
Christian + Jade – linoleum
The Danish-Singaporean design duo will focus on linoleum. Manufactured in Tarkett’s Narni facility, linoleum is made with up to 97% responsibly sourced natural materials. Using renewable and abundant ingredients, Tarkett collaborates with partners to recover materials otherwise destined for waste, such as cork from the Sardinian wine industry, reinforcing a regenerative material cycle.
Of Tarkett and Franklin Till’s collaboration at 3daysofdesign, Thomas Leneveu, Vice President Commercial Business Unit, says:
“Tarkett emphasises that circularity is a collective effort. By working with partners across industries, the company actively recovers valuable materials and enables them to be transformed into new products, demonstrating that collaboration is fundamental to closing the loop. We are proud to be working with three designers who share this sentiment and look forward to bringing Beginnings & Endings to Copenhagen this year.”
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to meet the designers during daily meet-and-greet sessions throughout the festival. Additionally, Tarkett will host informal tours and talks in the space, inviting the public to take part in the discussion.
