Scherlin Form presents FUTURA 2024 

Scherlin Form, with more than 30 years of successful design and craftsmanship, is now taking an exciting step into the future with Marc Scherlin as the new Chief Design Officer. FUTURA 2024, the first collection signed by Marc Scherlin, consists of a series of seven unique objects, marking the beginning of a new era for Scherlin Form.

The FUTURA 2024 collection includes: a lounge chair in steel, now also available as a modular seating solution, a coffee table, as well as coasters, trivets, and bookends in stainless steel, along with a café table, stool and barstool.

Founder Ulf Scherlin, who has led Scherlin Form with great passion and skill, now welcomes the next generation into the company. Marc Scherlin, Ulf’s son, takes over the creative direction and becomes the driving force behind the company’s continued development. Scherlin Form’s goal is now to aim for a new era where tradition meets innovation, and the design of the future takes shape. Marc’s designs are characterized by a combination of metal, wood, and recycled materials, with a focus on having fun and daring to be a little bolder.

“I am inspired by the space-age era and the extravagant 60s and 70s, with strong contrasts and soft shapes. However, for FUTURA 2024, I’ve also drawn inspiration from the 80s, featuring glamorous metals and bold colors. I’ve been influenced by how Italian designers dare to push boundaries, in contrast to typical Scandinavian design. This collection became a synergy between the two,” says Marc Scherlin, Chief Design Officer of Scherlin Form.

“Scherlin Form is taking a step toward the future by complementing my earlier designs with Marc’s innovative shapes,” says Ulf Scherlin, founder and CEO of Scherlin Form.

A new era is beginning, but Scherlin Form promises to continue producing high-quality objects just as they have done for over 30 years. All products in the FUTURA 2024 collection are manufactured in Sweden, primarily in Småland.

About Scherlin Form

Scherlin Form was founded in 1994 by Ulf Scherlin, who has since led the company and designed its products. Over the years, the brand has developed a wide range of products for both home and public spaces. Production takes place exclusively in Sweden, with Småland as its base. In 2024, Marc Scherlin, Ulf’s son, joined the company as Chief Design Director and launched his debut collection, FUTURA 2024, in the fall of the same year.
