Lotta Agaton Interiors creates concept and set design for ECHO
In February 2026, ECHO opens as a new exhibition platform for designers, design companies, journalists, and a design-interested public. The premiere exhibition will take place from 3–6 February 2026, followed by the next edition in Copenhagen in June. For the premiere, Lotta Agaton Interiors, one of Scandinavia’s most influential studios within interior design and architecture, has been commissioned to create the overall set design.
Lotta Agaton Interiors, founded in 2004, has been entrusted with defining the spatial framework for ECHO. The design draws its color palette from nature, with pine, moss, grass, and reed serving as recurring elements throughout the environment.
“I immediately associated the word ECHO with my childhood summers in Norrland, and how sounds there echo across the river and between the mountains. That, along with the exhibitors’ products, which clearly have a nature-inspired theme, became the foundation for the exhibition,“ explains Lotta Agaton.
“I believe everyone dreams of getting closer to nature in different ways, and I hope ECHO becomes a small oasis for inspiration and reflection, offering a contrast to the everyday noise of the city,“ says Karin Sköldberg, founder of ECHO.
ECHO 2026 will take place at the canon workshop on Skeppsholmen, a nature-adjacent venue with views of Saltsjön and central Stockholm. The former workshop features raw industrial architecture and generous natural light, providing a minimalist framework for the exhibition. The interaction between the building’s architecture and the set design’s visual language highlights both the space and the exhibition as a whole.
Exhibitors include Bemz, DUX, JOY Objects/Fredrik Paulsen, Kähler, Ogeborg, Staffan Holm Studio, Anki Gneib, Mia Cullin, ASKO, and Solid Space Studio. Exhibitors are continuously presented on Instagram @echo.exhibition and the website echoexhibition.se.

Background ECHO
The exhibition was originally intended as a complement to Stockholm Furniture Fair, to strengthen Stockholm as a design destination and Sweden as a design country. This ambition remains even after the announcement that Stockholm Furniture Fair has been postponed until 2027.
