Success for the new international exhibition concept ECHO

The first edition of the exhibition ECHO premiered in Stockholm on February 3–6 in a former cannon workshop on Skeppsholmen. During four days, established design brands gathered alongside emerging newcomers, international and Swedish press, and nearly one thousand unique visitors.

The days were filled with press- and architect breakfasts as well as evening gatherings were ECHO Talks, themed “On Legacy,” attracted both international press and industry professionals. The panel discussion, moderated by Hanna Nova Beatrice, Editor-in-Chief of The New Era Magazine, featured Mirkku Kullberg (Paimio Sanatorium), Jonatan Jahn (Museum of Furniture Studies), Max Fraser (Dezeen), and Henrik Ljung (DUX).

The exhibition, styled by Lotta Agaton, has already received significant attention, including coverage in Sweden’s main daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter and across social media. International titles reporting on the event include The Times, Wallpaper, Dezeen, and Hypebeast, alongside Swedish publications such as Residence Magazine, ELLE Decoration, Plaza, and Sköna Hem, among others. In total, 55 journalists attended the press breakfast Tuesday morning. 

Interest was also strong among industry professionals and the general public, with nearly one thousand unique visitors.

“We are delighted by the warm reception ECHO has received and would like to thank both exhibitors and visitors for helping us create the commercial meeting place for producers, designers, and industry professionals that was missing this year when the Stockholm Furniture Fair did not take place,” says Karin Sköldberg.

Background – ECHO
The exhibition was originally conceived as a complement to the Stockholm Furniture Fair, with the aim of strengthening Stockholm as a design destination and Sweden as a design nation. The initiative remained in place following the announcement that the Stockholm Furniture Fair has been postponed until 2027.
